TU Delft is gradually transitioning to Windows 11 as part of its Digital Workspace initiative. This upgrade is essential, as Windows 10 will soon no longer be supported. Windows 11 offers enhanced security, a modern user experience, and key benefits such as an improved design, secure login options via Windows Hello, and support for climate initiatives through Ecosia search engine usage.
To prepare for the installation, users should back up their data to OneDrive or a network drive and follow the provided installation guide. Notable changes in Windows 11 include the removal of PST file support and the default disabling of local admin rights. The full rollout is expected to be completed by 2025.
Following the successful pilot with ICT and the Library, we are now beginning the rollout to other faculties.
