Summer holiday has arrived – or is coming!
While you’re getting your bags sorted and your out-of-office email organized, don’t forget your digital workplace either.
For your own convenience, we’ve created a flyer with practical advice on how to get your ICT and telephony ready for your holiday.
Take a look at the flyer on our website: Flyer – Carefree on Holiday
The flyer has useful advice on how to:
- System Updates
Update your devices with the latest version of software. - Connection and Account
Check your network and VPN connection.
Ensure that login details work and your password is not expiring while on holiday. - Mobile Telephony and Coverage
Review your mobile subscription coverage and roaming charges. Review additional data packages and decide on the destination country.
Contact the ICT Service Desk for help or go to the Odido Travel and Surf page. - Communication and Accessibility
Leave an ‘out of office’ message in your e-mail with a stand-in contact person and notify staff of your absence. - Devices and Chargers
Take chargers and travel adapters. Bring a power bank as an emergency supply. - Emergency Numbers
Save emergency contact numbers for local emergency services and the TU Delft Service Desk. - Safety and Privacy
Make use of secure connections (HTTPS) for activities online (e.g., banking or travel). Automatically lock devices, strong passwords, and turn on MFA (multi-factor authentication).
More Microsoft 365 suggestions for your holiday planning:
- Configure your Out of Office response
- Turn on Quiet Hours in Teams on your mobile phone to prevent notifications during your absence
- Convert key emails to (future) tasks
- Schedule messages in Teams or Outlook to be sent after your holiday
Having difficulties setting this up? Don’t hesitate to contact the ICT Service Desk at ict-servicedesk@tudelft.nl.
By following these steps, you can have a worry-free holiday knowing that your ICT and telephony services are in working order.
Have a great holiday!
