Citrix has been phased out at TU Delft as of 1 January 2026, and all known use cases have now been migrated to alternative solutions.
From now on, Citrix is no longer available for end users. Please do not use Citrix anymore, as any issues reported after today may take additional time to resolve.
What does this mean for you?
- Citrix desktops and applications have been permanently phased out.
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) are no longer available via Citrix.
- Access to applications and remote work environments is now provided exclusively through alternative solutions.
For most users, no further action is required, provided you are already using the available alternatives.
Overview of known use cases and current status
- Virtual desktop with Windows or legacy applications
Fully phased out. Alternatives are available via local installation, web-based applications, or other provided solutions. - Remote access via RDP (servers and workstations)
Citrix access has ended. Alternative access is available. Manuals can be found at TU Delft IT Manuals. - On-premises web applications (e.g. iProtect)
Access is now provided via MyApps or cloud-based solutions. - Osiris (including BIP and Studielink)
No longer dependent on Citrix. Osiris has been successfully migrated to the cloud. - macOS and Linux users
Windows-only software can be accessed via approved virtualization solutions or web-based alternatives, in line with TU Delft guidelines.
Files previously saved in Citrix
If you previously saved files locally on the Citrix desktop, they can still be accessed via your H-drive > Desktop.
