TU Delft is introducing lifecycle management for managed mobile devices that no longer receive security updates from their manufacturer.

Mobile devices without active manufacturer support are considered a security risk, as newly discovered vulnerabilities are no longer patched. To protect TU Delft accounts, data, and services, these devices will gradually be phased out.

What does this mean for you?

If you are using a TU Delft-managed mobile device that has reached its End of Life (EOL) date and no longer receives security updates, you will receive an automated email notification containing details of the affected device.

These emails may be sent from microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com and include information such as the device model, operating system version, and serial number.

Affected users will receive a notification in July 2026 and a reminder in August 2026.

Do I need to take action?

Yes. If you receive this notification, you should arrange a replacement managed device as soon as possible.

We recommend not waiting until the last moment, as ordering, delivery, and setup may take time.

What happens if I do nothing?

From 1 October 2026, unsupported devices will no longer be allowed to access TU Delft services and business applications.

Your TU Delft account will remain active, but access from the affected mobile device will be blocked.
